The Staff Selection Commission's CGL exam is one of the most popular. It administers both the CHSL (Combined Higher Secondary Level Exam) and the CGL (Common Graduate Level Exam) (Combined Graduate Level). Preliminary Test, Mains, and Computer Proficiency Test/Skill Test are the three phases of the SSC CGL Exam Pattern. The job profile is the other classification of employment under the SSC CGL test. SSC CGL Overview

The notice for SSC CGL 2021-22 has been released. The Staff Selection Commission administers the SSC CGL exam (SSC). It is one of the most awaited tests of the year since the successful students are hired for various positions throughout the Central Government ministries.

SSC CGL Syllabus

The Staff Selection Commission has released the SSC CGL Syllabus along with the announcement for the year 2021-22. (SSC). Aspirants preparing for the SSC Combined Graduate Level Exam (CGL) should be familiar with the syllabus in order to organise their study schedule accordingly.

SSC CGL Syllabus Tier 1

Tier I is the first stage of the SSC CGL Recruitment Exam. It will be administered in an online format with objective-type questions. The Table below lists the sections of the SSC CGL Tier I exam. SSC CGL is divided into four sections:

  • General Awareness

  • Quantitative Aptitude

SSC CGL General Intelligence And Reasoning Syllabus for Tier I

SSC CGL General Awareness Syllabus

This portion will assess the candidate's understanding of the world. The test will also cover questions about India and its neighbours, particularly in relation to:

  • Sports History (Ancient, Medieval and Modern)

  • Culture

  • Geography

  • Economic Scene

  • General Polity

  • Indian Constitution

  • Scientific Research

SSC CGL Quantitative Aptitude Syllabus

The questions will be designed to assess the candidate's ability to utilize numbers appropriately and their numerical awareness. The test will include the computation of whole numbers, decimals, and fractions, as well as number relationships. It will test sense of number order, ability to translate from one name to another, sense or order of magnitude, estimation or prediction of the outcome of computation, selection of an appropriate operation for solving real-world problems, and knowledge of alternative computation procedures to find answers. The questions will also be based on arithmetical principles and relationships between numbers, rather than on complex arithmetical computation (the questions will be of a 10+2 level).

SSC CGL English Syllabus

Candidates' ability to comprehend correct English, basic comprehension, and writing skills, among other things, would be assessed. (The questions in components A,B, and D will be at a level that corresponds to the Essential Qualification for the position, which is graduation.)

SSC CGL Syllabus Tier 2

Tier II is the second tier of the SSC CGL Exam. It will also have an online style of assessment, similar to Tier I, with objective type questions. In the table below, the sections of the SSC CGL Tier II are listed. In SSC CGL Tier II, there are four papers.

CGL Tier II Syllabus Paper 2 - English Language & Comprehension

Questions in this section will be based on error recognition, fill in the blanks (using verbs, prepositions, articles, etc. ), Vocabulary, Spellings, Grammar, Sentence Structure, Synonyms, Antonyms, Sentence Completion, Phrases, and Idiomatic use of Words, among other things. There will also be a question about passages and passage comprehension. (The questions will be of a 10+2 level of difficulty.)

  • Theory of Production and cost - Meaning and Factors of production; Laws of production- Law of variable proportions and Laws of returns to scale.

  • Forms of Market and price determination in different markets - Various forms of markets - Perfect Competition, Monopoly, Monopolistic Competition and Oligopoly ad Price determination in these markets

  • Indian Economy - 

  1. Nature of the Indian Economy Role of different sectors role of Agriculture, Industry and Services-their problems and growth;

  2. National Income of India-Concepts of national income, Different methods of measuring national income.

  3. Population-Its size, rate of growth and its implication on economic growth.
    Poverty and unemployment- Absolute and relative poverty, types, causes and incidence of unemployment.

  4. Infrastructure-Energy, Transportation, Communication

  • Economic Reforms in India - Economic reforms since 1991; Liberalisation, Privatisation, Globalisation and Disinvestment.

  • Money and Banking - 

  1. Monetary/ Fiscal policy- Role and functions of Reserve Bank of India; functions of commercial Banks/RRB/Payment Banks.

  2. Budget and Fiscal deficits and Balance of payments.

  3. Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management Act, 2003

SSC CGL Syllabus Tier 3

The descriptive paper in the SSC CGL Syllabus Tier III contains Letter Writing and Application Writing. Letter writing includes both formal and informal letters (letters to the editor, letters to the municipality, etc). (letter to a friend, etc)
